Grand Master Michael J. Schaefer

"One of the leaders in our martial arts organization is Master Mike Schaefer, a school owner in Harper Woods, Michigan. He is the type of martial artist that leads by example, a rare gem in an era when others rest on their past accomplishments. He began his training in 1982, under Grand Master Adams and went on to become a world champion competitor in the NASKA tournament circuit."

Training History, Isshinryu Hall of Fame

Grand Master Schaefer has studied martial arts since 1974, and the particular practice of Isshin-Ryu under Grand Master Adams since 1982. Grand Master Schaefer is a 2015 inductee into the Isshinryu Hall of Fame.
